From October 22 to 24, 2024, the 2024 International Cooperation Conference on Sustainable Development and the China-Eu (Jinan) Green and Low-carbon Economic Cooperation Conference with the theme of “Low-carbon Spring, Hand in hand” was held in Jinan Shandong Building. The conference was hosted by Shandong Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Jinan Municipal Government, and co-hosted by The German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW). The main contents of the conference include a keynote speech on sustainable development, the China-Eu (Jinan) Green Opportunities Negotiation Meeting, the German Federal Federation of BVMW’s “Future of China Day”, as well as parallel activities such as China-Eu green industry achievements Display and green industry project roadshow.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference on October 22, Dr. Martin Wortmann, Secretary General of the Education Alliance of the BVMW, pointed out that smes are an important source of global economic vitality and play an irreplaceable role in the transition to low carbon.
Liu Yin, chief representative of the BVMW in Shandong, said at the “Future of China Day” that in the future, small and medium-sized enterprises would be the core force of China-German cooperation. They not only have the ability to cope with global challenges, but also will play an important role in green economy and sustainable development, she also stressed the deep recognition of the concept of sustainable development, and expressed the hope to further strengthen cooperation with Chinese enterprises and related institutions in the field of green and low-carbon economy.
At the subsequent BVMW Association membership ceremony, a number of enterprises led by Jinan Jinqiang Laser Numerical Control Equipment Co., Ltd. actively joined BVMW, which showed that BVMW would become an important bridge for China-German smes cooperation, which would further promote the deeper cooperation between smes on both sides in technology, market and resources. At the same time, during the meeting, a number of enterprises signed on-site contracts, of which Jinan City signed a total of 20 projects, the total contract amount of more than 8 billion yuan.
In order to build a bridge of communication between Chinese and German enterprises and let the participants personally enter the Chinese enterprises, a number of enterprise visits were organized during the conference.
On October 21, the day before the conference began, most of the German enterprises attending the conference had arrived in Jinan in advance, and began intensive business cooperation and docking activities without stopping.

In the activity, all the staff first visited the Group’s emergency joint defense and rescue station in Dongfeng Street, and learned about the equipment such as individual security soldiers, large-scale activities and riot control. This has laid the foundation for cooperation and exchanges between China and Germany in the field of security services.
Heads of Harmuth Entsorgung GmbH, Harmuth Entsorgung GmbH, and BORN Entsorgung GmbH visited Everbright Eco-Environmental Protection (Jinan) Co., Ltd. and Shandong TUS Environment Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. The two sides held in-depth exchanges and discussions on issues such as environmental protection technology, waste treatment methods and market cooperation.
Liu Yin, chief representative of Shandong Representative Office of BVMW, and Abdullah Jaber, CEO of German Trailer Dynamics GmbH, were invited to Jinan Municipal Transportation Bureau to discuss the construction project of electric commercial vehicle production base. Subsequently, General manager Liu Yin led the French delegation, headed by the president of the French Energy Association/former United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Brice Lalonde, to meet with Jinan City Industry and Information Bureau. On October 22, in the China-European (Jinan) Green Opportunity Negotiation Meeting, in order to help Chinese and German enterprises by industry and field of accurate docking, conference carried out the “4+1” group negotiations, including automobile and spare parts industry negotiating area, technology and artificial intelligence industry negotiating area, environmental protection industry negotiating area, security industry negotiating area and comprehensive industry negotiating area. Representatives of Chinese and German enterprises conducted in-depth exchanges based on their own advantages and needs, and some enterprises initially reached a cooperation intention.
Among them, BVMW Shandong led to the signing of cooperation between aBB Automotive Berlinbrandenburg E.V, and Shandong Automobile Association, as well as the preliminary cooperation between Amperfied GmbH and Shandong Jicheng Zhitong New Energy Co., Ltd., to promote the development of electric vehicle charging technology.
Under the active guidance and promotion of BVMW Shandong, Yang Zhenpeng, Director of Jinan Transportation Bureau, and Wang Wensen, Deputy Director of Jinan Investment Promotion Center, assisted in organizing the in-depth communication meeting between Amperfied GmbH and Shandong Jicheng Zhitong New Energy Co., Ltd. At the meeting, the representatives of Amperfied GmbH and Sun Xingwei, deputy general manager of Shandong Jicheng Zhitong New Energy Co., Ltd. had a face-to-face communication. The two sides enhanced mutual understanding and reached a preliminary cooperation intention, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation in promoting innovation and cooperation in the field of electric vehicle charging.

On October 23, the foreign guests visited the Urban Exhibition Hall of Jinan New and Old Energy Conversion Start-UP Area, the exhibition hall of Jinan Green Movement Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd., the New Energy Passenger Car and Parts Industrial Park (BYD), JIER Machine-Tool Group Co. Ltd., as well as well-known enterprises Inspur Group, SinotruK and the National Supercomputing Center. This has laid a good foundation for further strengthening international cooperation in the field of science and technology innovation.
On the same day, Professor Martin Wortmann, Secretary General of the Education Alliance of the BVMW, Liu Yin, Chief representative of the BVMW Shandong Representative Office, former United Nations Under-Secretary-General Brice Lalonde and other people visited Shandong University. Professor Martin Waterman brought wonderful lectures for the teachers and students of Shandong University and exchanged interactively with students, he took the Renaissance engineers as the entry point, analyzed the new perspective of innovative enterprises, for enterprise reform and innovation and future development direction to provide new ideas.
On the same day, a delegation led by Abdullah Jaber, CEO of German Trailer Dynamics GmbH and BVMW Shandong, visited Yongchang Logistics and Huifeng Transmission to discuss electric trailer solutions and spare parts procurement solutions. On the afternoon of the same day, as part of the series of activities of the conference, François MOUTOT, mayor of Troyes, France, and his delegation paid a friendly visit to Shandong University of Art and Design. This visit was arranged and coordinated by Liu Yin, Chief representative of the BVMW Shandong Representative Office. Vice President of Shandong University of Art and Design Han Wentao warmly received and held in-depth talks with the guests.
Han Wentao introduced the basic situation of Shandong Institute of Arts and Crafts to Mayor MOUTOT, and expressed his wish to strengthen ties with France in the field of academic exchange and cooperation. Mayor MOUTOT was full of praise for the 10th Jinan International Photography Biennale on display at the Art Museum of Shandong Institute of Arts and Crafts and the rich collection of the Museum of Civil Arts, and expressed his willingness to set up a bridge for cooperation between Shandong University and French schools of Design and Art, and open up new channels for teachers and students to go to France for exchange and study.
Mayor François MOUTOT visited Shandong University of Art and Design and gave a wonderful academic report to more than 30 students. He once served as the general executive officer of the French National Labor Union of Handicrafts, and has a deep understanding of the development and innovation of French handicrafts for hundreds of years. In his report, he explored topics such as environmental protection, business models, vocational training and apprenticeships, and encouraged students to incorporate modern design concepts while inheriting traditional handicrafts to promote the combination of handicrafts and contemporary innovation.
Before the talks and the report, Mayor MOUTOT and his delegation also visited the folk art museum and art gallery of Shandong University of Art and Design, and spoke highly of the school’s efforts in cultural and artistic inheritance.
On October 24, Liu Yin, Chief representative of the BVMW Shandong Representative Office led the team, Abdullah Jaber, CEO of German Trailer Dynamics GmbH and four senior executives of the company went to Liangshan County, Jining City, Shandong Province, to investigate the advantages of the industry in the region. Especially the trailer and spare parts industry, to seek further cooperation opportunities.
The symposium was held at the government affairs center of Liangshan County People’s Government and presided over by Zhang Wei, deputy head of the Standing Committee of Liangshan County. Also present at the meeting were Zhou Liang, director of the Trade and investment Service center of the Chian Council For the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-council, as well as a number of government officials and business representatives from Jining city and Liangshan county.
At the beginning of the meeting, Director Zhou Liang extended a warm welcome to the guests and thanked the Liangshan County Government for their careful arrangements. He pointed out that the visit was an important step in China-German economic cooperation, stressing that CCPIT Shandong played an important role as a bridge in promoting trade and investment between the two sides, and he looked forward to achieving deeper cooperation through the exchange.
Abdulla Jaber thanked Liangshan County for its warm reception and introduced in detail the background of German Trailer Dynamics GmbH and the innovative technology of its core product, the electric trailer (eTrailer). He pointed out that this product not only conformed to the zero carbon emission goal of the European Union, but also would inject new impetus into the sustainable development of the Chinese market, and looked forward to carrying out multi-faceted cooperation with local manufacturers in Liangshan.

After the meeting, the senior management of German Trailer Dynamics GmbH conducted field visits to relevant enterprises in Liangshan County to promote the implementation of specific cooperation projects.
On October 25, Prof.Ingo Schuenemann from bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences and Prof. Martin Wurtmann, Secretary general of BVMW, visited Jinan Tourism School to introduce the characteristics of German vocational education. The two sides said that they would enhance professional exchanges, learn from each other and improve together through online and offline approaches.
On the same day, Dr.Detlef Steiner, general manager of Germany Alpha-test GmbH, and Prof. Schünemann visited Qilu Software Park. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on artificial intelligence assessment business, jointly discussed the mode of attracting and landing, and reached a preliminary consensus on promoting collaborative cooperation and resource sharing.
On the same day, the leaders of aBB Automotive Berlinbrandenburg e.v and MM Link Company first visited China Council For the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-coucil. He Zhongjun, Vice president of China Council For the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-coucil, talked with German foreign guests and expressed the hope that the two sides would continue to deepen cooperation; Secondly, the foreign guests went to Shandong Auto Parts Association, the two sides on the development trend of the automobile industry, technological innovation, market cooperation and other topics launched a warm discussion, and would further strengthen contact, jointly explore more cooperation opportunities; Finally, they visited Shandong Xinzhongan Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to deeply understand the latest progress of intelligent manufacturing and green production.
