Foreign offices offer SMEs the opportunity to personally support their clients, help them navigate the market in the United Arab Emirates and build partnerships.
BVMW is pleased to announce the official opening of a representative office in Dubai, together with official partner IFZA, Dubai’s most vibrant Free zone community. This initiative aims to deepen economic ties between Germany and the UAE and provide German SMEs with access to one of the most prosperous business hubs in the Middle East.
IFZA CEO Jochen Knecht, Ambassador of the UAE to Germany Ahmed Alattar, and Ambassador of German to the UAE Alexander Schönfelder, were among the prominent personalities present at the launch ceremony held at IFZA headquarters. With keynotes, panel discussions and valuable meeting of exchange, the event provided an excellent platform for German companies to engage with the UAE market and for both sides to highlight the growing synergies between Germany and the UAE.
As the UAE becomes an increasingly attractive destination for international SMEs, the BVMW office will offer the opportunity to personally serve clients and serve as an important resource for German SMEs to help them navigate the local market and build partnerships while understanding the huge potential of the region.
Christoph Ahlhaus, Federal Managing Director of BVMW, said: “The UAE is an important market for German companies, especially given the rapid growth in the Gulf region. Our partnership with IFZA enhances our ability to support German SMEs to successfully establish themselves in the UAE. This new office will serve as a hub for connectivity and knowledge exchange, helping businesses understand and tap into this highly promising market.”
Speaking at the event, Jochen Knecht, CEO of IFZA, said in this event: “The establishment of the BVMW Dubai office is a testament to IFZA’s commitment to strengthening foreign direct investment and promoting Dubai as the first place of choice for international businesses. German SMEs have found a welcoming and friendly business environment here, and we look forward to promoting new connections and growth opportunities through our partnership with BVMW.”
The innovative strength and technological strengths of the German SME sector are recognized worldwide. Germany’s economic strength is built on SMEs, which account for more than 99% of the country’s businesses. These companies make an important contribution: they generate more than half of Germany’s economic output and provide nearly 60 percent of jobs. SMEs also play an important role in vocational training: about 82% of trainees acquire skills in these enterprises.
IFZA will continue to provide optimized solutions for German SMEs in order to measure and improve their competitive advantage. This partnership underlines the shared vision of both organisations to support SMEs, help them achieve their development goals and strengthen their presence in the UAE and beyond.
