“It is time to put the paralysis of traffic lights behind us and look to the future once again”. Christoph-Ahlhaus
A fractured and hopeless coalition is falling apart in the face of a huge foreign policy crisis. However, after the back-and-forth of the past few years, this coalition was not finally united, or at least somewhat tempered. All parties concerned- starting with the federal chancellor - were shouting in public, as they do after a failed marriage.
Such behavior not only shakes the faith of many citizens in politics, but also calls into question Germany’s international stability. Therefore, we should urgently reassumed our political responsibilities, and it is also in everyone’s interest.
But what can we expect in 2025? What journey will we embark on? Will the election deliver the turnaround people have been waiting for, and will there be a government capable of acting, finally addressing Germany’s most pressing problems with courage and understanding?
We have also put this question to the mittelstand sector and members of the political Advisory board of the BVMW. You can read the politicians’ answers and the companies’ positions in this issue.
One thing is already clear to me: we will not put our economy and country back on the path to success without hard work, teamwork and a sense of the big picture, which is why we must now - especially in the upcoming parliamentary election campaign - focus on constructive collaboration and responsible practice.
There must be an end to narcissism, partisan political pettiness and personal vilification of political opponents. Only those who successfully cross ideological lines, build bridges of communication and seek common pragmatic solutions will be elected and competent to govern.
That is the only way our country can move forward again.
