On September 15, the 2026 Global Business and Law Conference was successfully held in Haikou, Hainan. Hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the conference was themed “Empowering the Integration of Business and Law through Digital Intelligence, and Safeguarding Institutional Opening-up through the Rule of Law.” Representatives from government authorities, international organizations, business associations, legal service institutions, and leading enterprises gathered to discuss emerging trends in global economic and trade development and legal cooperation.
The Shandong Representative Office of the German Federal Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (BVMW) was invited to attend the conference. During the event, the Representative Office engaged in exchanges with representatives from the business and legal communities in China and abroad, with a particular focus on international economic and trade rules, the business environment, and the international development of enterprises.
The rule of law is an important cornerstone of cross-border economic and trade cooperation. The Global Business and Law Conference 2026 Declaration put forward at this conference helps to further understand the latest practices of China’s foreign-related industrial and commercial rule of law. It can better provide rule-of-law references for German SMEs entering the Chinese market, continuously unblock communication channels between Chinese and German enterprises, and promote pragmatic economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and German SMEs.
As an important platform connecting German SMEs with the Chinese market, the Shandong Representative Office of BVMW will continue to follow developments in China-Germany economic, trade, and legal cooperation, actively participate in high-level international economic and trade events, and promote deeper and more practical exchanges and cooperation between German and Chinese enterprises.
