On the afternoon of May 28, the 2026 Government-Enterprise Dialogue Session on Optimizing Business Environment (Germany Special) was successfully held in Qingdao. Hosted by the CCPIT Shandong and co-organized by the Administrative Committee of Qingdao Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Foreign Affairs Office of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and other relevant units, the event serves as an important platform for Shandong to normalize government-enterprise communication with foreign-funded enterprises, provide targeted services for German enterprises in the province, and deepen economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Germany.

The session featured a high standard and strong pertinence. Meng Xiangdong, President of the CCPIT Shandong, presided over the meeting. Wen Nuan, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, attended the session and delivered an important speech. The event attracted representatives from German institutions including the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the BVMW Representative Office in Shandong, China, and the International Business Agency of North Rhine-Westphalia. Senior executives from 13 renowned German enterprises such as Siemens, Festo, TKE Elevator and ARGO Group also attended the session. Leading officials from eight provincial departments including the Provincial Financial Work Office, the Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Education, and the Department of Industry and Information Technology, as well as relevant municipal authorities, participated to deliver targeted docking services.

During the discussion, representatives of German associations and enterprises put forward demands and suggestions regarding production and operation, industrial supporting facilities, policy implementation and factor guarantee in Shandong. They also proposed ideas for deepening Shandong-Germany cooperation in intelligent manufacturing, SME collaboration, industry-university-research integration and two-way investment. Relevant provincial departments and local authorities responded to each proposal on-site, answered questions and clarified implementation plans.

Liu Yin, Chief Representative of the BVMW Representative Office in Shandong, China, stated that the office will further deepen economic, trade and people-to-people exchanges between China and Germany. It will advance high-level pragmatic cooperation between Shandong and Germany in industry, science and technology, culture and other fields, and support German enterprises to expand their presence and achieve sound development in Shandong.

The dialogue session has further smoothed government-enterprise communication channels between Shandong and Germany, strengthened German enterprises’ confidence in investing in Shandong, and injected new momentum into deepening bilateral industrial cooperation and promoting high-quality development for both sides.
