On October 29, the First Member Congress and Inaugural Meeting of the Jinan International Chamber of Commerce was grandly held in Jinan. Dang Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Chamber of International Commerce; Meng Xiangdong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Shandong Sub-council; and Zhang Yongqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department, attended and addressed the meeting. Wang Bozhi, Vice Chairman of the Jinan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was also present. As a significant milestone in Jinan's opening-up, the official establishment of the Jinan International Chamber of Commerce marks a crucial step forward in Jinan's process of advancing high-level opening-up and building an internationalized business environment.
The congress was presided over by Qi Huaidong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the CCPIT Jinan Sub-council. The meeting successively voted via secret ballot to adopt the "Articles of Association of the Jinan International Chamber of Commerce" and the "Election Method for the First Member Congress of the Jinan International Chamber of Commerce," among other documents. The first President, Vice Presidents, Council members, and Supervisors were elected, and plaques were awarded to the Vice President units, Supervisors, and Council member units. Qi Huaidong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the CCPIT Jinan Sub-council, was elected as the President.
Dang Hong stated that the Jinan International Chamber of Commerce should focus on service, act as a bridge between the government and enterprises, promote enterprises to "go global" and attract resources, continuously strengthen its own development, and build a first-class chamber trusted by the government and relied upon by its members.
Meng Xiangdong congratulated the Chamber on its establishment, proposed development expectations centered on "Four Strengthenings," and stated that the CCPIT Shandong Sub-council would provide full support to jointly help Jinan build a new highland for opening up.
Zhang Yongqiang pointed out that the establishment of the Jinan International Chamber of Commerce is an important milestone in the city's open development. He required the Chamber to strengthen Party construction, deepen services, enhance its development, and lead enterprises to bravely undertake the mission of high-quality development.
During the session for releasing service projects, a series of initiatives were launched on-site, including the "Quan Zheng Tong" management system certification, the "Quan Mao Dai" credit product, and the China Jinan Commodity Overseas Exhibition and Sales Center. The event was attended by 7 initiating units, 12 district/county CCPIT branches, and over 300 member units.
Liu Yin, Chief Representative of the Shandong Representative Office of the German Federal Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (BVMW) and Head of the Jinan International Chamber of Commerce German Exhibition and Sales Center, delivered a keynote speech announcing the official launch of the China Jinan Commodity German Exhibition and Sales Center project. This project innovatively adopts a dual-track model of "physical exhibition hall + digital platform," aiming to centrally showcase high-quality Jinan products and create a two-way channel for Jinan enterprises to access the European market. Located in Frankfurt, the Exhibition and Sales Center will serve as a bridgehead for "Made in Jinan" products entering Europe and an important platform for Sino-German cooperation. In the future, centered around this Exhibition and Sales Center, efforts will be made to help Jinan enterprises go global in groups, introduce advanced German technology, jointly build a Sino-German industrial collaboration ecosystem, and promote Jinan's accelerated integration into the global industrial chain.
Looking ahead, the Jinan International Chamber of Commerce, as this important platform, will drive more fruitful outcomes in international economic and trade cooperation, injecting more international strength into the construction of a strong socialist modern provincial capital in the new era.
