On September 16, to actively address the growing demand for specialized and localized talent from the Representative Office and related enterprises, the BVMW Shandong Representative Office visited the School of Foreign Studies at Shandong University of Finance and Economics. They held strategic discussions with relevant leaders and faculty members. The meeting aimed to proactively engage with Shandong’s high-quality higher education resources and jointly explore new models for cultivating and supplying talent that meet current market standards.

During the talks, Ms. Liu Yin, Chief Representative of the Representative Office, elaborated on the talent challenges faced by enterprises in Jinan and surrounding areas, particularly the strong demand for interdisciplinary talents who are not only proficient in foreign languages but also possess solid expertise in economics, management, or trade. She stated, "We hope to establish deep connections with outstanding institutions like Shandong University of Finance and Economics, directly linking the most cutting-edge industry needs with the source of talent cultivation, thereby building an efficient and stable bridge for talent."

Leaders from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the two-way dilemma of "the market cannot find the right people, and universities do not know where to send their graduates." School leaders admitted that talent cultivation in universities often faces disconnection from market needs, noting, “The students we train possess strong language and professional knowledge, but there is often an information gap regarding the latest demands of the job market and the specific recruitment standards of enterprises. This exchange has provided us with a clear understanding of what the market currently needs most, offering direction for optimizing our training programs and adjusting curriculum settings.”

The visit yielded significant results, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation. The BVMW Shandong Representative Office believes that collaborating with top Chinese finance and economics universities is a strategic initiative to address corporate talent challenges and optimize localized operations, holding positive significance for deepening Sino-German economic and trade cooperation in the future.
