
On September 9, 2025, the 2025 Global Ocean Development Forum successfully came to an end which was jointly hosted by the Shandong Provincial People’s Government and Ministry of Natural Resources and supported by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-Council.

The forum attracted numerous people from governments, authoritative institutions, well-known business associations, and enterprises to participate in for promoting the development of the marine economy and building an exchange platform for global maritime cooperation. At the same time, the “Future Day China 2025 - International Marine Industry Business Matchmaking Conference” organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-Council and the German Federation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises also concluded, and made remarkable achievements in promoting international maritime economic and trade exchanges.

At the opening ceremony on September 8, several keynote speakers from home and abroad delivered speeches and analyzed the new trend of marine economic development deeply, discussed on new opportunities and challenges, provided profound insights and some suggestions for the development of the marine economy, aroused strong resonance among the participants, and laid a good foundation for subsequent exchanges and cooperation.
In the afternoon, the important supporting event of the forum “Future Day China 2025” successfully held, Meng Xiangdong, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-Council, was invited to serve as the host. the event focused on the frontier development of the marine economy, inviting experts from university and scientific research institutions such as German Jordanian University (GJU) Prof. Dr. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, representatives of leading enterprises and heads of international organizations Luca Heuchert from Creatal GmbHto, Dr. Mingyu QIAN from GIZ and so on, conducted in-depth discussions on core topics such as “breakthroughs in marine science and technology innovation”, “construction of green shipping ecology” and “coordinated development of cross-border industries”.


During the meeting, president Meng Xiangdong promoted all parties to reach consensus on key issues such as technology transformation paths and market cooperation opportunities by connecting the guests’ views and guiding interactive discussions, effectively building a bridge for the integration and exchange of industry, university, research and application, and gathering wisdom for the future development direction of the marine economy. The conference achieved fruitful results under the guidance of Shandong CCPIT and Qingdao West Coast New Area Management Committee. Shandong CCPIT has proven to be a “super booster” for corporate internationalization, demonstrating its commitment through comprehensive services ranging from legal protection to training support. Meanwhile, Qingdao West Coast New Area Management Committee has exhibited outstanding leadership and innovative capabilities in driving regional development.
